There haven't been many albums in 2009 that i've been excited about. But one is due out in less than a month that looks to finally hit the spot. Julian Casablancas's debut album, "Phrazes for the Young" will be released in the UK on October 19th and in the US on October 20th.
It might not be The Strokes but from what I've heard of it already it certainly has sounds that are very Strokes like with some an awesome Electronic Battle Weapon'esque feel to it.

Not sure if you missed it earlier this year - But Julian colaborated with the Awesome "The Lonely Island" made a song together called BOOMBOX - well it makes me smile everytime I hear it - so here it is once again.
Nice video I thought - not the official video - but certainly an amazing effort.
