The Olympic Torch comes to London

The Olympic Torch Relay – An event started and used to promote a fascist regime in 1936 by the Nazi’s and yet the Nazi Police now surround it once again supporting another fascist regime on the other side of the world!

The Olympic Flame, Olympic Fire, Olympic Torch, Olympic Light, Olympic Eye, and Olympic Sun are all names for an important symbol of the Olympic Games. Commemorating the theft of fire from the Greek god Zeus by Prometheus, its origins lie in ancient Greece, when a fire was kept burning throughout the celebration of the ancient Olympics. The fire was reintroduced at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam, and it has been part of the modern Olympic Games ever since. The modern torch relay was introduced by Carl Diem, president of the Organization Committee for the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, as part of an effort to turn the games into a glorification of the Third Reich.

The Olympic flame passed through the streets of London – as a Londoner did I care for this highlight on the Calendar. No – but I did care for the right of people to protest and to disrupt this corporate spectacle.

Those people that give a damn for the torch relay need to remember it was invented as a publicity stunt by the Nazi’s! “Look at how great the Berlin Olympics will be – just forget about our fascist regime while you’re enjoying the show!” How times don’t change – China is a country containing some of the greatest people on this planet however it is governed by a fascist regime that still insists on occupying Tibet while continuing its flagrant abuse of Human Rights and Animal Rights on a mass scale. The country is quickly becoming the biggest polluter in the world as its Industrial revolution strides ahead at full steam.

And yet – as the flame lit in Olympia arrived in London today people rightly thought it would be a great platform to highlight to the world their anger at the Chinese Government – however because the British Government has a lot to lose from disrupted relations with the Chinese the Brown Government took it upon itself to impose a Third Reich style policing on those that wanted to voice their anger. The Torch relay passed through the streets of London from West to East but the spectacle wasn’t one of celebration. Along route a sad individual (sportsman, sportswoman or media personality – that wanted to further their media career by being seen on TV) was barely visible as they passed through the streets due to being surrounded by the Nazi Metropolitan London Police who in typical fashion got their fists and boots out at the sight of anyone disrupting the route of the torch even when they were simply on the sidelines – batons’ and cuffs were flung in Protestors direction. The Brits believe they have the right to protest – but time and time again I have seen nothing that proves this – Protestors are seen as terrorists by this Nazi Government and treated with contempt. Well I say to you – seeing the ex Blue Peter Presenter Konnie jogging along with the torch surrounded by Chinese Security and Thousands of Dumb members of the Blue Law – I look on at this with contempt. I applaud the protestor who tried to grab the torch, I applaud all those that were out voicing their anger and I applaud the clever chap who brought a fire extinguisher to the streets of London (just a shame he missed his target!).

A sad day for the freedom of speech today but then again what’s new there!
